Just bought my mrs a 2005 Holden Astra. Its the AH model which was the nicer newer shape.

I will be detailing the car this weekend.

Methods used:
Style Magic whole car
Bilt Hamber clay bar
Menzerna 106FF Final Finish
Prima Amigo
Driven Auto Polish
Aussie Gold detail spray

Stay tuned for results  Grin

Shav mate you've outdone yourself.  It didn't look too bad to begin with, but as we all know, there's a massive difference.  That reflection shot with you leaning into the camera shows the finish nicely.

Thanks mate, I appreciate your comments.

I must say this was a difficult task to do. Using the final finish was a good idea, using it with a DA was not. Generally final finish should be used with a rotary buffer to generate some heat into the compound to break down the clear and remove the deeper swirls. Sadly I barely removed the finest swirls. Dont get me wrong, its better than before, but I know a rotary would get this next to perfect. I reckon I removed about 50-60% of swirls. Took me 9 hours to do all 3 passes per panel. Heck of a long time on any vehicle. But made it worse using a DA when I know a rotary could have done it in half the time. When I do the advanced clinic with the boys I'll tackle it again.

Nice work Shav.
Looks bloody glossy!!!!
Yeh 106 its harder to break down with the DA compared to the Rotary, but from the pics it looks like you still got great results

Keep it up mate

thanks rob. The Prima Amigo was the best with application and results. Awesome product and if left after applying, I go straight over the top with Driven Auto polish to seal in the results.  Grin
