Yes I have registered the car so hopefully I will have no drama's  lol.

I will try and redeem myself by taking lots of photo's for this site Smiley

Well I did the Hillclimb last weekend and we all got 4 runs each in.  Its a blast thats for sure and I will be back next month to have another go.
My times did not set the field on fire lol but on the plus sign each lap I did was quicker than the previous one.
I will try a different technique next month and try not to use all my available power from the 355 stroker but instead concentrate on smoother lines and see if I can improve my times that way.

Here are a couple of pics from the event, shame they are not the best photo's

Oh one thing that pleased me no end was while the car was being scrutineered a senior scrutineer asked the guy doing my car "whats she like"  My guys reply was "mate this thing is mint" Naturally I passed scrutineering lol.

Cheers

Nice work Herne.

What distance is the Hillclimb?

Is it a pretty safe course or is their some hairy corners?

The actual distance of the track is not stated anywhere on the official website but this is taken from their front page.

"The track has an asphalt surface of approximately one kilometre in length.  The Q shaped track loops back onto itself which allows events to be run as hillclimbs over one or two laps. It is regarded as one of the better hillclimb venues in NSW/ACT and was purpose built in the 1970’s."

Here is a pretty good photo of the layout.

The corners are mostly pretty safe but sure you can get into trouble Smiley Take turn 2, I came out of the gate at full noise in first gear, hit turn 2 flat out and then realised a part of it is adverse camber with a hump in it too, I became airborne, got crossed up and was lucky to gain control of the car and continue on and this was on my very first run... It sure got the heartrate going lol.  Each run I did was faster than the previous one and I cant wait for next month where I will try and knock another 2 seconds or so off Wink
Its great fun.
From turn 6 through 7 is all uphill and quite steep, the rest is downhill and comes up so fast its quite tricky. Most people seem to get into trouble on the downhill section after turn 8 but I have yet to see anything bad happen out there.

Cheers

Man I wish we had this in our state. We probably do, but I wouldnt know where to look.

Herne - did you have to have a CAMS license or any sort of license to race on these types of circuits?
